Howlin’ Wolf sang “meet me in the bottom and bring me my runnin’ shoes.” Juke Boy Bonner sang a song “Runnin’ Shoes” which was covered by The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Lindsay Shannon, owner of B.B.’s Lawnside Bar-B-Q in Kansas City, Mo., and long-time blues photographer, took all of the photos for this poster.
Lindsay is host of the Kansas City Blues Show which airs Sunday nights (8-10pm CST) on KCFX 101.1 The Fox , founder of the Kansas City Blues Society. His articles and photos have been published in Big City Blues Magazine, Living Blues Magazine and Offbeat Magazine.
